PK’s been skiing everyday he can at Pico! 5+ days a week, sometimes only for a run or two before work. Plus his full days at Killington on Wednesdays. He can’t get enough!

He’s been testing, testing different skis each time, most days on ‘Tele’, but then he’ll throw in a day or two on ‘ A T ‘ or ‘NTN’, just for kicks, and to keep himself ‘up to date’ on what’s out there, and educate himself on what he’s selling.

Traditional Square Toe….He always falls back to ‘square toe Tele’ as his favorite, though. Old school Tele… he likes the light touch. Of the 50 Tele skiers we know , and see come through the shop, 90% of them are still skiing square toe, and will continue to as long as its available.

NTN …(New Telemark Norm) he’s liking more and more, he can appreciate the ability to go hard and fast and ski ‘more alpine like’ but feels like you loose 1st and 2nd gear, and learning to feel the ball of your foot. The NTN binding pulls from the ball of your foot, rather than the heel like in traditional square toe. It is where the R&D of the industry is concentrating, so it can be a great choice for young, up and coming, charging new Tele skiers, who want to go fast, and keep up with their alpine friends.

Alpine Touring…. is really growing, with lots of new comers in the Alpine world jumping in next season. It has a huge place in the skiing world as well, because of it’s versatility, lightweight uphill possibilities, and stability for alpine runs.. It is by far the best tool for big mountain skiing out West, and in Europe, and for any alpine skier new to ‘uphill travel’ who doesn’t want to learn to Tele. The uphill is lighter and more efficient, with AT, its convenient, and has a releasable binding adding an element of safety. Any guide on any big mountain trip, be it heli and cat skiing in the Cascades and Alaska or Chamonix, they will want you on “AT”. We have lots of local Docs skinning up Pico at sunrise, and taking trips to Norway, they don’t want to Tele, they want AT, they’re alpine skiers who want to go uphill.  Same with our Stratton customers, who travel out West several times a year, they are loving their ‘AT ‘ set ups they got from Peter.

We still have a decent choice of skis and boots available at our lowest ‘end of the season’ discount prices…as LOW as he’ll go!  Come see PK for an education on what skiing style is best for you! And what kind of deal on equipment updates… he might have for you, to replace skis, boots, or both! His March Madness SALE on equipment is going on now through the end of the month.
